Hawk releases all 10 episodes on July 16, and offers Ferrell the exact type of character he’s built his career on: a manipulative man who can’t hear the word “over.”

Lonnie was the # 1 golfer in the world in 2004, and after his nine games his body is telling him to retire while his ego insists that there is still a Grand Slam of golf and the greatest comeback in the history of the sport.

He drags all his orbit in pursuit: his foul-mouthed ex-wife Stacy (Molly Shannon), his young son Lance who has a bigger name than Dad (Jimmy Tatro), a new singer named Sam (Fortune Feimster), a rival who has already beaten him twice (Luke Wilson as Golden Fisk), a member of the board of Chrisnce Parnces (Katelyn Tarver). Ferrell created a show with Harper Steele and Chris Henchy, and the PGA Tour signed on. Rated TV-MA.

He’s been in character for weeks, modeling as The Hawk for a SKIMS campaign narrated by Kim Kardashian (“His body says retire, his SKIMS says another round”) and appearing in character at PGA Tour events.

The world premiere came to the Directors Village in Westwood on Thursday, where Ferrell walked the green carpet (lol) with his sons Mathias and Magnus and Molly Shannon brought her daughter Stella. Those who attended the first two episodes said they were laughing the whole time.
