Sony on Tuesday announced the next batch of monthly games for PlayStation Plus, coming in August, and these games convince me that playing inside to beat the heat all summer was one of my best ideas. People online rave about Signalis, and Ding Light 2 has generally positive reviews on Metacritic. The Big Walk looks like a fun, cartoony co-op game that a lot of people should enjoy for its silliness and puzzles. And all PlayStation Plus subscribers can play these games from Aug. 4.
PlayStation Plus, which is Sony’s version of Xbox Game Pass, offers a large, ever-growing library of games. Subscribers can choose from Essential, Extra and Premium tiers, each with unique benefits and advantages. Starting at $11 per month, plans give subscribers access to monthly games and prizes, and each month, all subscribers can access a few games at no extra charge.

The signal
Some people on Reddit are calling this game a “Citizen Evil game that’s a secret Silent Hill romance game,” which should pique the interest of many horror fans. You play as Elster, a humanoid android named Replika, who is searching for his lost partner and lost dreams in a dystopian solar system. You will explore a defunct spaceship, fight dangerous creatures and solve challenges effectively with limited resources. Maybe play this survival horror game and turn on the lights.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition
The game takes place almost 20 years after the first and – spoiler – a virus that turns people into zombies has almost won. You play as one of the last survivors, tasked with delivering goods and news between settlements. But you really want your sister in all the chaos. The only problem is that you have a lot of zombies to get through. Use parkour and brutal weapons to get past the undead and survive another day.
Venture capital
This wicked-looking game from the makers of the untitled Goose game is all about solving puzzles, cooperating and talking. Go with your friends in a wide world full of puzzles and adventures, and that’s part of the fun. The other part is hanging out with your friends as you all watch the sunset, or stealing your friends’ binoculars and kicking them off a cliff. Everything is delicious.
