Thomas Tuchel’s England continue their preparations for the 2026 World Cup with a thrilling friendly at Wembley on Tuesday against Japan, the tournament’s dark horse.
The game is England’s last friendly before Tuchel names his 26-man World Cup squad after a 1-1 draw with Uruguay on Friday. The Three Lions will be without Arsenal trio Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke who have all returned to their squad for “tests,” while Man City defender John Stones has also been ruled out.
They will host a Japan side who have beaten their way to this summer’s tournament, with the Samurai Blue coming into the match on the back of a 1-0 win over Scotland in Glasgow on Saturday thanks to a goal from Junya Ito.
England will face Japan at Wembley Stadium in North London Tuesday, March 31. Kick off is scheduled 7:45 pm BST local time. That makes it a 2:45 pm ET or 11:45 am PT starting in the US and Canada. For Australian viewers, the game continues on 5:45am AEDT on Wednesday morning.
Arsenal defender Ben White had a mixed performance for England on Friday, scoring in the 81st minute before conceding a stoppage-time penalty that allowed Federico Valverde to equalize for Uruguay.
