Airline travel deals: Book discounted flights with Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier

This week’s best flight deals:

You’re probably already feeling the pain at the tap as electricity prices across the country have jumped an average of 27 cents a week (per data from the AAA auto club) since the US-Israeli attack on Iran. And that same attack is starting to take place on the air as well. Jet fuel went up by an absurd 56% in the days following the strikes, which points to one thing for sure: plane tickets are more expensive. TL;DR: If you’re planning a trip (or considering it), get your tickets ASAP before those price hikes start.
Fortunately, several airlines are taking advantage of spring sales to ease some of that stress on your wallet. But you’ll want to act fast to get a deal. According to the CEO of United Airlines, Scott Kirby, the impact from the increase in fuel costs on the prices of passenger plane tickets “will probably start immediately.” Shop for the best spring flight ticket deals below.
Southwest Airlines: Get one-way tickets as low as $49

One-way tickets are as low as $49
Southwest Airlines always offers discounts to its travelers. The Spring Forward Sale is live from March 9 to March 12 and you can book a one-way ticket for as low as $49. There is fine print as usual, so listen up. Discounted airfares are valid for travel between March 31 and June 10 in the continental US and inter-island Hawaii only, and 21-day advance purchase is required. Limitations, exclusions, and expiration dates apply. After searching, I was able to find $69 flights from Nashville to New York City, $67 flights to Atlanta, and $49 flights to Columbus. I suggest you go to the sales page and select your departure city from the drop down list to get an idea of the cost.
JetBlue Airlines: Take up to 50% off flights with a vacation package
Up to 50% discount on vacation package flights
When you book your spring vacation on JetBlue flights, you can save up to $500 and get up to 50% off your flight. You’ll have to act fast, though, as the website says the sale ends today (March 9). The discount will vary depending on your travel dates and availability, but JetBlue says it includes “up to 50% off the package price.” Use the following promo codes at checkout to reduce the cost of your full holiday package:
-
$25 off $750+ with code Hello 25
-
$300 off $4,000 with code HELOSPRING300
-
$500 off $7,000 in code HELOSPRING500
