Apple announced iOS 27 on Monday, June 8, at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. While Apple hasn’t given a specific release date for iOS 27, historically Apple releases major upcoming iOS updates soon. after its September hardware eventso I expect the software to be available at that time. Developers can download the beta version of iOS 27 now, and Apple will release a public beta version of iOS 27 in July.

Siri integrated AI is everywhere
After months of rumorsApple confirmed at WWDC that iOS 27 will integrate AI into your iPhone’s digital assistant Siri. This update is a major change in iOS 27, and it will affect everything on your device.
Almost all of Apple’s presentation focused on how Siri AI will be able to help you across your device in different ways. You’ll be able to swipe down on your iPhone’s Dynamic Island to search or start a conversation with Siri AI. Assistant will also be able to perform actions in apps such as Messages, Music and Reminders.
Apple has written online that Siri AI will be available on Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhones, such as iPhone 16 Prolater this year.

The Siri AI app is a memory bank for all your past requests and conversations.
Siri was a big star at WWDC. Apple announced that the personal assistant will also have its own program, available in iOS 27.
“A dedicated app brings all your conversations together in one place, so you can ask a question on your iPhone and pick up where you left off on your iPad,” Apple said. “You can re-pin conversations for easy access or start a new one.”
This turns Siri AI into a chat AI like ChatGPT and Claude.
Siri is coming to your camera
Apple said its digital assistant will also be in your Camera app with a new Siri Mode in iOS 27. Once you’ve activated this new mode, you’ll be able to point your camera at something around you and get information about it on your iPhone.
An updated app for the photo arcade
With iOS 27, the Image Playground app for your iPhone gets an update, which will allow you to create photorealistic images.

Liquid Glass is changing
Apple has introduced its new Liquid Glass slider that lets you switch between Ultra Clear and Tinted Glass.
Apple showed off a Liquid Glass slider at WWDC on Monday that lets you change the Liquid Glass material to your entire device. You will be able to make those elements simple, invisible or have something in between.
Apple introduced the Liquid Glass design in 2025 on the side iOS 26. It’s the first major change seen on iPhones since iOS 7 in 2013.
The health app supports tracking menstruation and perimenopause
Apple has said that its cycle tracking system for the Health app will support both menstruation and perimenopause. You will be able to record symptoms related to both within the app, which will have educational content to help you learn more about your body.
Custom AirPods EQ
A 3-band custom equalizer will be available in September for the latest AirPods.
With iOS 27, you’ll be able to personalize how your AirPods sound by adjusting the lows, mids and treble of the headphones right on your iPhone.
