I Love the Slim Design of Honor’s V6 Foldable Phone

Honor’s V5 foldable phone was only launched last summer, but the company is already back with its latest model. The V6 is another foldable version of the book, and I was able to get my hands on it at Mobile World Congress 2026. It packs a lot of technology into a surprisingly long body for a foldable phone, and will go on sale in the UK and wider Europe in the second half of the year. It will probably hit the shelves this summer, just like its predecessor.

Honor has yet to announce pricing for the phone, but the previous V5 was sold in the UK for a princely sum of £1,699. I certainly don’t expect the V6 to be cheap, but hopefully it won’t see a significant price increase. The Honor phones aren’t officially available in the US but that UK price converts to around $2,285.

So what do you get for your money? However, design is where most of the money is spent. At 8.75mm when closed, the V6 is one of the sleekest folders around. It actually shaves 0.05mm off its predecessor, not that you’re likely to notice that difference. When open, the phone is only 4.1mm thick, but it still felt solid in my hands at the time.

The hinge feels strong, with a satisfying amount of resistance when opening and closing it. Honor says it made the hinge out of aerospace steel which makes it 87% stronger than the structural A-pillar in the car. It is also one of the first foldable phones that is IP68 and IP69 rated for water and dust resistance. That means reading ebooks on a sandy beach or taking pictures in the rain is no problem for this thing. It is not uncommon for folding items to be very water resistant as most hinge methods are difficult to make waterproof.

I love this red and gold color. Vegan leather goods have a soft, tactile feel.

Honor also claims to have refined the hinge to produce less of a crease. It’s hard to judge how well this worked when I looked at it briefly on the street in Barcelona, but I didn’t think the crease was overly obvious under the sunlight. I’ll reserve judgment once I’ve seen it stack up against rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, so expect impressive performance alongside other phones that use the chip, including the OnePlus 15 and Xiaomi Leica Leitzphone. It also packs a 6,600-mAh silicon carbon battery that should give you enough juice to get you through a full day of use. Camera specifications include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. How well these images capture remains to be seen.

It’s a small thing.

It will run Android 16 at its core and you can expect all the wealth of AI functions on board, both Honor and Google additions like Gemini Live and Circle to Search. It will have deep integration with Apple MacBooks, including the ability to use the phone as a second display for your computer and drag and drop file transfer between devices.
