Entering a new life requires a heart open to God’s reshaping and a mind renewed in grace, as expressed by Karin Hadadan. Likewise, Rebecca Simon’s Finding God Every Day offers practical ways to ground your daily life in the truths that support lasting change. Hold fast to His promises and read on below.
You were taught in your early course to remove the old man who is corrupted by his deceitful passions; to be renewed in the state of your minds. And you must put on the new personality, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:22-24

We play an important role in our spiritual transformation. Whenever we are ready to embark on our next journey or feel that intuitive pull to change our lives, there are three steps within each journey that serve an important purpose. First, we must ‘strip off our old self’—let go of stories, identities, beliefs, plans, thoughts, and emotions that have long held us. Our way that once worked for us, protected us, once protected us, but it was rooted in the desires of deception, we committed sin, and it gave us strength to do evil. These are aspects of our personality that are no longer consistent with who we are becoming in Christ.
Once we have shed that which no longer fits, we have the strength and space to enter the next stage of the journey—being renewed in the ‘spirit of our mind.’ During this stage, our transformation begins with our thinking—we begin to see life through God’s truth rather than our old filters, we change our ways of thinking, we look at opposing words but we learn how to refute them with the Scriptures. We begin to hear the whispers of God in the corners of our souls, allowing that powerful voice to guide our actions. Our renewed thinking creates our new reality, which enables us to change behavior, remove old patterns, and reconnect our belief system.

We are then invited to put on the new personality—a version of ourselves created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness, to let the love and divine light within us shine outward, to extend His grace, compassion, and love to others. This spiritual change is available to each of us, but often, we hesitate to start this journey, knowing that we have to do the inner work. God works in us, but we must actively cooperate with our choices. When we let go of our old lives, a new life begins…more harmonious, abundant, and grounded in faith.
