Samsung Galaxy Unpacked preview: Everything we expect from the July event

Samsung is expected to grab the world’s attention by hijacking the world’s attention a few hours later this month.

The Korean tech giant is reportedly holding a new Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, according to multiple leaks and rumors. At this event, we will probably see at least six new devices from Samsung. Without wasting any more time, here’s what to expect from the next Galaxy Unpacked.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: What’s really new (and what’s not)

Three new folders arrive, including Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8

The real headline of each summer’s unboxing, at least in recent years, has been Samsung’s series of foldable phones. For several years, Samsung introduced a new Z Flip and Z Fold phone every summer. By 2026, all reports indicate that a third phone has been added to the list. The three Samsung folders we expect to see in Unpacked are:

This is where things get a little confusing. You would like to think The Z Fold 8 Ultra will be a new addition to the lineup, but recent reports indicate that the Z Fold 8 is actually a new device this year. Rumors for months indicate that Samsung will release a wide foldable this year, and it sounds like that phone will take the name of the Z Fold 8, while the true successor of the Z Fold 7 will be called the Z Fold 8 Ultra.

However, the new Z Fold 8 may have a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.8-inch internal display when unveiled. These measurements closely match the rumored design of the yet-to-be-announced foldable iPhone, suggesting that Samsung wants to launch this third-generation foldable as a direct competitor to Apple’s device.

Other than that, we expect the Z Fold 8 Ultra to be fairly similar in design to the Z Fold 7, with a new Snapdragon chip and a solid 200MP main camera on the back. Samsung is said to have done some work to make the crease on the foldable display invisible this year. The IZ Flip 8, by all accounts, will follow the same path: a design almost identical to the Z Flip 7, but with a better processor and a less visible crease.

Oh, and thanks to RAMageddon, don’t be surprised to see price increases year over year for all of these devices.

New Galaxy Watches are on the way

Samsung often uses this summer event to showcase its latest smartwatch developments, and 2026 looks no different. This year, we expect to see two Samsung watches:

Admittedly, both of these phones will see improvements that are better than before. Of course there will be new health tracking features, as well as minor design changes, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in particular is said to include classic numbers on the watch face, a thinner bezel, and better side buttons. More importantly, for some, it feels like Samsung is skipping the new Galaxy Watch Classic this year. You’ll get a base model and a premium model, and that’s it, as far as anyone knows.

Galaxy Glasses has been released for the first time

Finally, Samsung’s long-awaited smart glasses should make their Unpacked debut in July. Most likely called Galaxy Glass, we expect these features to be similar to what Meta has been releasing for a few years now. They won’t include any augmented reality features, focusing on on-board cameras and a built-in AI assistant, courtesy of Google Gemini, to provide information about what you’re seeing, if you ask.

It should be a pretty packed show, so stay tuned for all our coverage as we get closer to Galaxy Unpacked in July.
