‘Stranger Things: Tales from ’85,’ ‘Running Point,’ ‘Beef’ and more New to Netflix in April.

Untold is a fantastic Netflix sports series that shines a light on some of the most dangerous and famous sports stories. A new collection of four feature-length documentaries is out now, starting with Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, which reveals the private struggles of one of the NBA’s most famous stars. That premiered on March 31, and three more will arrive in April, including Untold: Chess Mates (April 7), about the controversial games and feud between chess players Magnus Carlsen and Hans Niemann, Untold: Jail Blazers (April 14), which looks at scandal-plagued Portland The Trail0 at the beginning of 2 Hawthorne Hill (April 21) about a former Olympic equestrian accused of trying to kill one of his riding students ride in 2019.

Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor stars in the new disaster movie Thrash, coming to Netflix on April 10. The movie, about a coastal community wiped out by a hurricane, is actually a disaster movie that’s also a monster movie. Since the city in question is flooded, they have to face the sharks. The film’s cast also includes Djimon Hounsou and Whitney Peak.

Singer-songwriter (and popular New England singer) Noah Kahan is profiled in a new film that chronicles his rise to fame and shows his life at home in Vermont with his family. Noah Kahan: Out of Body arrives on Netflix on April 13.

Roommates is a new comedy produced by Adam Sandler starring his daughter, Sadie Sandler, and Chloe East as college roommates whose friendships get worse as they move in together. The cast is a who’s who of comedians like SNL star Sarah Sherman, Natasha Lyonne, Nick Kroll, Janeane Garofalo, Carol Kane and more.

The new documentary feature Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool is a profile of country star Wilson. Directed by Amy Scott, who also helmed another great doc, Counting Crows: Have You Seen Me Lately? on HBO Max, the film looks at Wilson’s personal journey in the music business.

Charlize Theron just can’t catch a break in the new Apex Survival. Theron stars as a grieving woman who sets out on a journey across the Australian desert to help her survive, only to find herself pursued by a ruthless killer. Taron Egerton and Eric Bana star in the film coming to Netflix on April 24.

Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) enters high school at her South Korean high school, KISS, and even though she’s charted her future and has a blossoming relationship with her ex-turned-nemesis, Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), nothing seems to go as planned. Season 3 of XO, Kitty contains eight new episodes, all arriving on April 2.

After the first season of Beef swept the Emmys, it was announced that the series would be an anthology with a new cast for the second season. In the new season, which will air on April 16, Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan star as a married couple, Josh and Lindsay, who get into a fight witnessed by another couple at work, Ashley and Austin, played by Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton. The situation changes, especially when their billionaire boss steps in.

Kate Hudson stars in the Netflix original series Running Point as Isla Gordon, the unlikely heir to a Los Angeles basketball dynasty who must keep the franchise going. This season, Isla’s brother, Cam (Justin Theroux), is determined to take her job, and she must survive his power play to keep everything she built when she took over. The show’s second season premieres on April 23.

Set between the events of Stranger Things’ seasons two and three, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is a new animated series from the Duffer Brothers that features all your favorite kids in Hawkins, Indiana, facing new threats lurking in their hometown. The show, which will air on April 23, also features several new cast members joining Will, Eleven, Mike and their friends.

Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury returns to boxing in a Ring match against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11. Conor “The Destroyer” Benn and Regis “Rougarou” Prograis headline the event, which airs live from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London at 2 pm ET/11 am PT. Another fight card features Jeamie Tshikeva vs. Richards Riakporhe and Frazer Clarke vs. Justice Huni.

The fight is included in every Netflix show.
